What company is behind 0account?
Oila GmbH, based in Berlin, Germany.
What we are trying to build
Signing in is the first thing anyone does with a product and usually the worst part of it. Passwords get reused, forgotten, phished and leaked; the alternative most sites offer hands another company a record of everywhere you go.
0account is an attempt at a third option: approve on your phone, share only the fields you chose, and be a different person to every site that asks. No password to lose, and nothing anyone can correlate across the sites you use.
What we hold ourselves to
Your identity is not our inventory. We do not sell data, and we do not build a profile of your behaviour across sites. The per-site subject is not a feature we could remove later without changing what the product is.
You can see and undo it. Every session, on every device, is visible and can be ended from the app. Approval is per sign-in, so nothing accumulates quietly.
Standards over lock-in. 0account is a plain OpenID Connect provider. Nothing proprietary sits between you and a working integration, and if you want to leave, the same libraries point somewhere else in an afternoon. We would rather be kept than depended on.
